Université de Laval | “Quelle place À l’humain pour contrer les deepfakes” ?

I had the opportunity and the pleasure to participate this Friday in the Symposium “Training to act in a digital context: CLE of the post-COVID recovery” organized by Nadia Naffi Ph.D. of Laval University in the panel “What place for the human to counter deepfakes”. A fascinating discussion about synthetic media where I was able to bring a journalist’s perspective to the issue.

I had the pleasure to speak on Europe 1 in Julian Bugier’s Club des Idées and who had a good idea to use the title of my thesis (available on @journalism.design ): #deepfakes, weapon of mass illusion. Arnold Zephir, co-founder of Prevision.io, Gérôme Billois, a cybersecurity expert at Wavestone, and Yanis, from the Youtube channel French Faker, were also present.

GO VIRAL | Deepfakes, weapons of mass illusion?

I had the opportunity to present the deepfakes phenomenon at the “Go Viral” festival supported by the American Embassy in Kazakhstan. The theme of this year’s festival was “ReThink. ReDesign. ReConnect.” The mission of the festival is to connect journalists, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, and musicians, leveraging social media and technology to strengthen networks and collectively address common challenges in Kazakhstan.
